17/05/2026 – Pilgrimage from Saint-Nicolas Church in La Hulpe to Saints Michel and Gudule Cathedral
In 2026, the Church of Saint Nicholas in La Hulpe and the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula
will commemorate their 800th anniversary. Throughout their history, these two edifices have
been visited by numerous pilgrims. It is therefore only natural that these two
churches of the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels should organise a pilgrimage to
enable the faithful to take part in a journey similar to that of those who came before them.
This pilgrimage of around twenty kilometres will link the Brabant countryside to the centre
of Brussels. Throughout the journey, participants will share moments of
prayer, singing and fraternal exchange. Breaks are planned for prayer, the
reading of religious texts or simply to eat. Upon arrival at the cathedral, a
Mass will bring all the participants together. The day will end with a convivial snack.
