During July and August, Belgian and international choirs perform sacred polyphonic works and Gregorian chant during the 11.00 mass, accompanied by the two principal organists, Bart Jacobs and Xavier Deprez. The repertoire ranges from Gregorian chant to Renaissance polyphony, as well as from the Baroque to the modern era. (Free admission)
To mark the 800th anniversary of the Gothic cathedral, Xavier Deprez composed an entrance hymn based on Psalm 116, ‘Laudate Dominum omnes gentes’ (Praise the Lord, all you nations).
