La Messe de Minuit of Marc-Antoine Charpentier willl be performed during the Christmas concert on Monday 29 December at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7.20 p.m. ).

The soloists are Caroline Jestaedt, soprano, Govaart Haché, alto, Geoffrey Degives, tenor, Gunther Vandeven, and the Voces Desuper Ensemble conducted by Gunther Vandeven will be accompanied by Bart Jacobs & Xavier Deprez on organ.
The singers of Voces Desuper are :
Sopranos Yuhmi Iwamoto (solo) and Bénédicte Moreau,
Altos Gertie Lindemans and Caroline Deville,
Tenors Raf Van der Veken and Mathis Van Cleynenbreugel,
Basses Mark Trigg and Laurent Fobelets.
This four-part Midnight Mass for Christmas, composed by Marc-Antoine Charpentier in 1694 based on the melodies of ten French Christmas carols, will be performed in its organ version (positive organ and the Grenzing Grand-Orgue). In addition to the Mass, you will hear the Angel’s Air (Nollite timere, pastores), as well as 4-part Christmas carols written by Etienne du Caurroy, and organ variations on French Christmas carols by Dandrieu and Daquin.
This Mass is considered unique both in the composer’s oeuvre and in the genre.
