Emilie De Voght is a passionate choir conductor and singer. She studied classical singing with Dina Grossberger at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and obtained her master’s degree with great distinction. In 2012, she won first prize at the Bell’Arte International Singing Competition (B).
Her participation in the Queen Elisabeth Singing Competition 2011 did not go unnoticed either, and in the autumn of 2018 she performed at the Autumn Concert and the Gala Concert at the Royal Palace as a soloist with the Royal Music Chapel of the Guides, as well as at Bozar.
In 2016, Emilie officially entered the choral world as a conductor. She did so as the new chief conductor of Chorus Erasmus, a mixed choir from Anderlecht. A year later, she joined ‘t Opwijks Mannenkoor, and in September 2019, she also became musical director of Canta Ludens, a mixed choir from Drongen (Ghent). In 2021, she also took over the leadership of Musica Nova from Boom and since May 2023 she has also been conducting Vivente Voce from Ghent.
Emilie herself sang as a chorister with the Flemish Radio Choir and Collegium Vocale Gent and is now very enthusiastic about passing on her practical knowledge to her choirs.
In June 2024, she obtained her Master’s degree in Choral Conducting with Luc Anthonis at the Antwerp Conservatory with great distinction, and in July 2025 she was awarded the conducting prize at the International Choir Competition Brahms Festival (Wernigerode, Germany).
Emilie strives to make music with a healthy vocal technique and works intensively to achieve a homogeneous choral sound.
